The annual Unity Burning Bowl Ceremony offers the opportunity to release that which no longer serves you so you can begin 2023 free of old burdens. Letting go opens us to the abundance surrounding us. Our Burning Bowl will be held during Sunday Service this year on New Year's Day, Sunday, January 1, 2023.
Dear Unity Family,
I pray you had a warm and wonderful Christmas Day and a relaxing week. If you were at the Christmas Eve service, you understand that in Unity we believe that Christmas is about much more than the birth of a child two-thousand years ago. It is in fact a model for birthing the Christ within. We acknowledge both the birth of Jesus and the Birth of our own indwelling Christ every year. Yet simply lighting a candle, no matter how powerful an act that may be, does not guarantee that we will be more Christ-like. There is yet work to be done.
This Sunday, New Years Day, we perform what may be an even more important ceremony than Christmas, that is the Ceremony of Release, or, Burning Bowl Ceremony. For it is simply not possible for our indwelling Christ Spirit to grow, if it is held by chains of the past. Past beliefs, messages, regrets, failures, you name it, prevent us from shining our Christ Light with true brilliance. Sunday, we will participate in a powerful letting go, and affirming the best for the year ahead.
