This Sunday's message is about the other.

Who is the other? And why does the other matter so much?

You may remember Gordon leaving us with a question last week — something that lingered in the air like an open invitation: Are you willing to let the other sit next to you? Whether that's the person in the chair beside you, or the stranger at the table — are you willing?

This week, we're going to explore that question together.

We'll be spending some time with Walt Whitman — a gay man writing in 1855, who more than earns his place in the LGBT family and in the broader queer community we celebrate this month. His words were radical then. In many ways, they still are.

And yes — it can feel scary right now. The political climate is real, and I don't want to pretend otherwise. But that's exactly why this conversation matters. How do we, as a spiritual community, keep showing up as a welcoming home for every other — the familiar ones and the new ones?

Here's what I know: we all have an other. Every single one of us. And it's nobody's fault. It's just the human condition — until we wake up to something larger.
