Meet in the USCABQ parking lot at 9 am. We will caravan from there. The Cerro Del Medio Loop combines 4 different trails within Valles Caldera: Obsidian Valley Trail, Posos Trail, Rincon Trail, and East Valle Grande Trail. The trail is long, we will hike between 3 or 4 miles round trip. The trail is very nearly flat but is high altitude. The weather should be pleasant but rain is common in the afternoon. Bring rain gear, jacket, hat, sunscreen, trail food and plenty of water. You may want a camera to take pictures of the many forms of wildlife including Elk, Bear, Coyote, Turkeys, Prairie Dogs and much more! Come and discover why this is called "The Yellowstone of the Southwest!" As this is a backcountry hike a permit is required, thus RSVP is required, email: office@abqunity.org
